15 fully-funded PhD Positions


Each recruited PhD student will work on one project. (see DoSSIER Projects)

Applicants must be in the first four years (full-time equivalent research experience) of their research careers (both industry and academia) and have not been awarded a doctoral degree.

Applicants can be of any nationality, however, they are required to undertake physical, transnational mobility (i.e. move from one country to another) when taking up the appointment. At the time of appointment, the applicant must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the host country for more than 12 months in the past three years. Short stays, such as holidays, are not taken into account.

Salaries are in accordance with the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) regulations for early stage researchers. Women are especially encouraged to apply.

Accepted applicants will have the possibility to obtain a supplementary Postgraduate Certificate in Researcher Professional Development from the University of Strathclyde.


Applications must include the following:

  • Cover letter including
    1. a clearly visible list of maximum 3 projects that you would like to work on ranked by decreasing order of preference (include the project numbers and titles) and
    2. a description of why you are qualified to work on your preferred project(s), based on past experience in studies and work, and how would you approach the project(s) (maximum 1 page for 1-2 preferred projects and 1.5 pages for 3 preferred projects).

  • Language qualifications (necessary if applying for projects at institutions which have formal requirements for demonstrating language knowledge)
