The spread of multiple kinds of user-generated content through Web 2.0 technologies, has led to the diffusion of possible misinformation, due also to the absence of intermediaries that can guarantee the quality and the credibility of the disseminated contents. This issue involves several contexts, such as news, review sites, and health-related websites and social media, where the diffusion of inaccurate or malicious information can be particularly harmful to users. In this context, the project will focus on the automatic or semi-automatic assessment of the credibility of health-related user-generated content.
Main aims of the project are: (1) to analyse the problem of assessing the credibility of health-related user-generated content (2) to study and define the credibility criteria associated with user generated content (3) to propose a model for the dynamic and contextual-based aggregation of the credibility criteria based on physical and cognitive aspects (4) to evaluate the proposed model under different contexts.
