Systematic Reviews are commonly used in the area of medicine to judge the efficacy of medical interventions based on publications of clinical trials. However, if done manually, systematic reviews can require months to years to complete. Therefore, there exists a significant interest in automating the systematic review process as much as possible. The objectives of this project are:
The project will work toward methodological developments to contribute to the automation of the Systematic Review process, taking advantage of multilingual ontologies, information extraction, and credibility estimation. A set of quality criteria for systematic reviews will be created, against which developments will be benchmarked.
The work will be done in cooperation with the TRIP Database, which will provide the necessary data and expertise.
