Abstract

The search-by-example approach allows the user to ask new kinds of questions and more precise questions by means of multimedia elements. This approach influences on the construction of the query, the user dialog and the user interface involved, and thus, the user requirements needed to provide attractive services.

This study has been based upon a set of user oriented scenarios w hich has been analyzed to specify usability issues and user requirements for SAPIR based services. It has been a three step process. First a short survey of literature describing challenges related to user requirements was conducted, next preliminary analyses of the scenarios were done, and finally, the scenarios were presented to potential users.
