Abstract
Multimedia applications have many times highlighted the need to extend representation languages with capabilities which allow for the treatment of the inherent imprecision in multimedia object representation, matching, detection and retrieval. In Deliverable D3.6 we have presented an overview and some preliminary ideas about how fuzzy ontology languages and reasoning could be used for assisting specific tasks of the BOEMIE life cycle, like multimedia interpretation and ontology coordination. This effort was considered to be very promising and interesting, thus they have been investigated further within the project. Consequently, in the current Deliverable we extend the initially presented framework and report on our experiences and research results about the usage of fuzzy DLs in such tasks.
