Abstract

The goal of SAPIR project is to develop a large scale, distributed peer-to-peer architecture that will make it possible to search audio-visual content using the query-by-example paradigm. SAPIR will explore new ways to analyze, index, and retrieve the vast amounts of speech, image, video, and music currently filling the digital universe.

This report describes project activities undertaken as part of task T 1.1 Definition of scenarios. The deliverable investigates scenarios that illustrate typical user needs and use situations of search technologies. The scenarios will be used as a basis for choosing which demonstrators to implement (in WP8 of the project) in order to test and validate the developed technology.
