Abstract

To enable ontology coordination and enrichment with a multitude of homogeneous and heterogeneous ontologies, appropriate ontology matching techniques are required to determine semantic mappings that have to maintained between the concepts of different ontologies that are semantically related. In this report, we survey the ontology matching techniques and tools that have been developed in the literature, by providing a common classification framework for critical comparison. Finally, we also discuss the main ongoing/just concluded research projects that deal with ontology coordination and matching.
