PULL-OUT OF MOSCOW MILITARY DISTRICT UNITS FROM CHECHNYA TO KICK OFF MARCH 20 MOSCOW, March 14, 2001 /Alexander Konovalov, RIA Novosti Correspondent/ -- Withdrawal of infantry units of the Moscow Military District, or MVO, from Chechnya will be initiated March 20. On that day, the first train will be provided for MVO units' personnel, operational weapons and equipment, head of the MVO press service Colonel Vitaly Gusak told RIA Novosti. Units of the 15th Mechanized Infantry Guard Regiment of the Taman Mechanized Infantry Guard Division will be the first to return to permanent stations. Some heavy weapons and equipment of the MVO infantry units designated for withdrawal from Chechnya will be handed over to the personnel of the 42nd Mechanized Infantry Guard Division, which is permanently stationed in the republic. The pullout of the MVO infantry units is to be completed by April 1 according to plans drawn up by the General Staff and the District command, the colonel said.
