BROTHER OF CHECHNYA'S NUMBER ONE TERRORIST BASAYEV KILLED








MOSCOW, March 14, 2001. /RIA Novosti correspondent/.A spokesman for the PR Centre of the Russian Federal Security Service has informed RIA Novosti that on Tuesday night special forces of the Regional Operational Staff destroyed Khamid Basayev, a brother of leader of Chechen terrorists Shamil Basayev, in a clash in Chechnya's Vedensky district.


	No details of the clash have been reported yet. Prior to that another brother of Shamil Basayev, Shirvani, was killed by federal servicemen in a counter-operation against separatists.
