ONE MORE CHECHEN MILITANT ARRESTED MOSCOW, MARCH 13, RIA NOVOSTI - On March 13, Daghestan's police detained Said Khasuyev, a criminal who was on the federal wanted list for committing grave crimes. According to the Russian interior ministry's information department, Khasuyev was a member of the Shamil Basayev- and Hattab-led terrorist groupings, and was involved in the armed invasion of Daghestan's Botlikh district. Khasuyev was caught while attempting to return to Chechnya from the Kalmyk Republic, said the ministry. Police operations carried out in the city of Artezian, Kalmykia, have helped arrest Khasuyev's father, Batruddin Amirbekov. The interior ministry said he was deputy head of the security service of the Confederation of the Mountainous Peoples of the Caucasus. He is also known to have been involved in military operations against federal forces.
