ZYUGANOV REFUSES TO PREDICT OUTCOME OF NO CONFIDENCE VOTE MOSCOW, 12 March. /RIA Novosti correspondent Galina Filippova/. Communist leader in the State Duma Gennady Zyuganov has not ventured any predictions in relation to the vote of no confidence in the government, which is scheduled to take place in the lower chamber of parliament on March 14th. He told journalists that irrespective of how the situation develops during the plenary session, the Duma's decision "will be useful." As far as the position of the Unity faction, leading in the Duma, is concerned, then Zyuganov said that he thought that the party's deputies would either be allowed to vote freely on the no confidence motion or half of them would be ill. Regardless of the Duma's voting on March 14th, Zyuganov said that the government needed to be strengthened, adding that this decision "should be taken before September". He did not clarify why he had this time-frame in mind.
