TAJIKISTAN JOINS UN CONVENTION ON CRIME PREVENTION DUSHANBE, March 12, 2001. /RIA Novosti correspondent/. Tajikistan joined the UN Convention on prevention and punishment of crimes committed against persons enjoying international protection, diplomats included. The UN Convention was adopted on December 14, 1973. According to Zafar Saidov, press secretary of the head of Tajikistan, Emomali Rakhmonov, Tajik president, signed a decree to instruct the republican foreign ministry to send the UN Secretary General a notification about Tajikistan's joining the Convention.
