ONE MORE BIG-LEAGUE CHECHEN TERRORIST DETAINED IN DAGHESTAN MAKHACHKALA, March 11 /from RIA Novosti's Dekabr Beibutov/ - A notorious Chechen terrorist, Vakha Mazhidov, was detained in Daghestan on Sunday. The operation was carried out by the Daghestani frontier department of the republic's Interior Ministry. Mazhidov is suspected of shooting down in 1996 two members of the Kayakenstky regional interior department near Solnechnoye village, Khasavyurt district, Daghestan, who were guarding the administrative border with Chechnya. Mazhidov, born in 1961, is a fanatic follower of Wahhabism. He took part in fighting against federal forces under the command of Mohamed Khambiyev, one of the rebel leaders. Of the six rebels who attacked and killed the Dagestani policemen, one was killed in an exchange of fire, and three later detained.
