DUMA APPROVES WHAT RUSSIAN DELEGATES ARE DOING IN PACE MOSCOW, MARCH 7 (from RIA Novosti's Arina Dovgan) - The State Duma approves Russian delegates' activities in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, and calls them to step up European partnership, the Russian parliament's lower house says in a statement landslided at a plenary session today with 320 votes, one abstaining. The statement enthusiastically refers to the PACE reinstating the Russian delegation in full competences, and highlights Moscow's desire to go on with a constructive dialogue on the North Caucasian and other issues. The house calls the cabinet to appoint deadlines for presenting international documents signed by Russia for ratification, and pledges to be quicker with the ratification of documents in the house by now--in particular, a draft Criminal Procedural Code, a bill on legal defence, and bills on the state of emergency and on alternative civilian conscription.
