TRADE TURNOVER BETWEEN RUSSIA AND IRAN HITS $600,000,000 MOSCOW, March 7, RIA NOVOSTI. According to official reports, the official trade turnover between Russia and Iran last year amounted to $600,000,000. The public relations department of the ministry of trade and economic development reported on Wednesday that Russian exports had reached $550,000,000, while imports reached $50,000,000. More than half of the Russian exports to Iran made up ferrous metal deliveries, fertilizers, pulp and paper products and saw-material products. The main imports were nuts, dates, juices, vegetables, preserved fruits, tobacco and pasta. Russia and Iran are cooperating in the basic field of oil production and energy, in particular, as far as the latter is concerned nuclear energy. The press-service noted that Gazprom is the main investor in the latter field.
