RUSSIAN AND BRITISH DIPLOMATS DISCUSS ISSUES OF EUROPEAN SECURITY








MOSCOW, MARCH 6, 2001. /RIA NOVOSTI CORRESPONDENT/. Burning issues of European security were in focus of Tuesday's talks in Moscow held between Deputy Russian Foreign Minister Yevgeni Gusarov and Director of British Foreign Office's European countries department Jonh McGregor.


	According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the sides discussed how to strengthen OSCE role and to "create European security structures based on cooperation and partnership relations between nations and their alliances". The sides stated that "it is necessary to establish closer political ties within the OSCE framework". This "will help elaborate coordinated approaches to creating the environment of equal security in Europe", the sides summarized.
