LIFTING OF SUBMARINE KURSK WILL BE EXAMINED AT FEDERATION COUNCIL MEETING








MOSCOW, MARCH 6, 2001. From RIA Novosti Correspondent Nikolai Venediktov.  The situation with the lifting of the nuclear-powered submarine Kursk will be examined at a regular meeting of the Federation Council on March 14, reported the Chamber's committee for security and defence.


	The initiator was Pavel Sazhinov, chairman of the Murmansk Regional Duma, who expressed the apprehension at the Chamber's February 22 meeting that "the work scheduled for August may fall through," unless the decision to begin their financing is taken.
