UKRAINE-RUSSIA PRESIDENTS BY TELEPHONE PONDER BILATERAL RELATIONS KIEV, MARCH 5. /RIA NOVOSTI'S CORRESPONDENT VICTOR DEMIDENKO/ -- In a telephone conversation presidents Leonid Kuchma of Ukraine and Vladimir Putin of Russia discussed a wide range of matters of further promotion and deepening of Ukrainian-Russian relations. The Ukrainian president's press service said that Leonid Kuchma and Vladimir Putin exchanged opinion on the state and prospects of relations between their countries, considered far-flung aspects of international relations and set-ups in certain regions. Vladimir Putin congratulated Leonid Kuchma on Ukraine's chairmanship in the UN Security Council, which began on March 1. The two heads of state stressed the need for an earliest implementation of agreements reached at the Ukrainian-Russian summit meeting in Dnepropetrovsk and coordinated further actions towards development of dialogue at the summit level, said the Ukrainian presidential press service.
