17-TH SESSION OF RUSSIA-BELARUS UNION'S PARLIAMENTARY ASSEMBLY OPENED MOSCOW, March 2, 2001. /RIA Novosti correspondent Galina Filippova/. The Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Russia-Belarus Union, Speaker of the State Duma /lower house of parliament/ Gennadi Seleznyov, has opened a regular 17-th session of the Parliamentary Assembly. The session started working on Friday in the second part of the day in the building of the State Duma in Okhotny Riad. The Russia-Belarus Union State's budget-2001 in its second reading will be in focus of the session, Mr Seleznyov said. On behalf of the Parliamentary Assembly Mr Seleznyov congratulated Moldovan deputies with the end of the parliament election in Moldova. He wished successful work and expressed hope that the Moldovan parliament deputies would join the Russia-Belarus Union's parliamentary assembly. MP's from Armenia, Ukraine, and representatives of some public organizations from Belarus and Russia are accredited as observers, the Speaker said.
