RUSSIAN GOVERNMENT DISCUSSING MEASURERS TO IMPROVE INVESTMENT CLIMATE MOSCOW, March 2, 2001 /from RIA Novosti correspondent Dmitry Znamensky/ -- It is impossible to improve the investment climate in Russia without cutting down the administrative barriers on the way of the development of business in Russia, said Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov at today's session of the government, which discusses measures for raising the entrepreneurial activity in the country. The Prime Minister proposed to consider three main trends in this sphere. As he put it, "the most painful of them" is the reduction of the number of licensed types of activity. Apart from that, the Prime Minister pointed out, it is necessary to simplify the procedure of registering commercial structures and to lower the pressure on business by state control bodies. -O- (kos/ant) 02/03/01 12:51
