A RUSSIAN-JAPANESE SUMMIT TO BE HELD IN SIBERIAN CITY IS BEING PREPARED TOKYO, MARCH 2, 2001 (FROM RIA NOVOSTI CORRESPONDENT VYACHESLAV BANTIN) -- Consultations of deputy foreign ministers of Russia and Japan, within the framework of preparations for the forthcoming Russian-Japanese summit slated for March 25 in Irkutsk, will be held in Tokyo on March 5. The central place during the consultations will be devoted to the joint statement which is planned to be adopted on the results of the Irkutsk meeting between Russian president Vladimir Putin and prime minister of Japan Yoshiro Mori. The Japanese foreign policy department announced that the Japanese side at the consultations will be presented by deputy foreign minister Ryozo Kato, and the Russian side -- by deputy foreign minister Alexander Losyukov.
