PRESIDENT OF RUSSIA IS FOR USING THE POTENTIAL OF THE VIETNAMESE TRAINED IN THE USSR AND IN RUSSIA HANOI, MARCH 1, 2001, (from a RIA Novosti Special Correspondent) -- It is necessary to make wider use of the potential of the tens of thousands of Vietnamese who received an education in the USSR and in Russia for the development of our bilateral relations. President Vladimir Putin of Russia said this at a meeting with Nong Duc Manh, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Vladimir Putin noted that during his stay in Vietnam he did not always need an interpreter. "Many Vietnamese leaders were trained in our country. The large number of Vietnamese citizens who were trained in the USSR and in Russia are the potential that we must use," said the president. Nong Duc Manh said addressing himself to the Russian guest: "You have brought from great Russia kind feelings towards our country from the fraternal great people of Russia. Your visit is a historical event which will help us raise our relations to new heights."
