THE COUNCIL OF FEDERATION A APPROVES THE AMENDMENTS WITH THE FEDERAL
BUDGET FOR 2001








MOSCOW, March 14.  (Corr. Ria " Novosti " Maria Balynina).  The
Council of the Federation (Upper House of the Russian Parliament) A
approves a law on the amendments has to bring in the Russian federal
budget for 2001 by 124 votes for, four against and three abstentions.


The law makes it possible to carry out the necessary payments for the
servicing the debt exterieure of Russia.  It also keeps the
possibility of using the budgetary surpluses for the priority sectors
prevus by the premiere adopted alternative of the budget-2001.

Under the terms of the law, the expenditure for the servicing the debt
exterieure in 2001 will be augmentees of 2,43 billion dollars.
