THE POSITIONS OF RUSSIA AND THE COUNTRIES OF OMC ON THE POLICY OF
TARIFFS SE ARE RAPPROCHEES








MOSCOW, March 11.  (Corr. Ria " Novosti " Nadejda Anissimova,
Alexandre Ivachtchenko).  The positions of Russia and the Member
States of the world Organization of trade (OMC) on the policy of the
tariffs are rapprochees lately, A declares Maxime Medvedkov, Russian
vice-minister for the economic Development and the Trade.

According to him, approximately 30 % of the tariffs have the
importation have ete concert with the Member States of OMC, the common
approaches are esquissees on nearly 40 % of the tariffs and of the
substantial dissensions remain on 30 % of other tariffs.

Essentially, the dissensions relate to the tariffs has the importation
of pieces of furniture, bierre, pharmaceutical products, machines and
goods of equipment, chemicals, alcohol and products referring to the
agricultural group, pointed out Medvedkov.

However, the principal objective that always fixes itself Russia is to
maintain the policy flexible to the maximum in the field of the
tariffs.  Maxime Medvedkov A underlines:  " We cannot progress
actively to the negotiations on the policy of the tariffs as long as
we do not know which additional engagements will be propose has Russia
during adhesion has OMC ".
