VLADIMIR PUTIN INVITED TO DENMARK MOSCOW, March 13, 2001. /From RIA Novosti correspondents Yelena Glushakova and Kristina Rodriguez/--Danish Foreign Minister Mogens Lykketoft told journalists at today's press conference, which he gave jointly with his Russian counterpart Igor Ivanov after they had finished negotiations, that he had invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to Denmark. Copenhagen officials are looking forward to the Russian president's official visit to Denmark and to his talks with EU leaders in Stockholm, said Lykketoft, who promised Copenhagen would follow Sweden's example of regarding Russia as a priority partner of the EU when Denmark became the country chairing the Union in the second half of 2002.
