MOSCOW AUTHORITIES NEVER ASKED FOR BALLERINA ANNA PAVLOVA'S RE-BURIAL








LONDON, March 8, 2001. /RIA Novosti correspondent/. The Moscow authorities have "never officially asked" that the remains of the great Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova be re-buried in Moscow, Russian ambassador to Britain Grigory Karasin said in an official statement in London on Thursday.


	This position, the document stresses, was again confirmed by the Moscow authorities to the Russian ambassador in Britain.


	From the very beginning the initiative met with resistance in Russia from a number of leading cultural personalities and also from the relatives of the dancer.
