CATHOLICISM SPREADS IN RUSSIA TO ALARM DUMA MOSCOW, MARCH 7 (from RIA Novosti's Pavel Shevtsov) - The State Duma ordered to its committee for international affairs to inquire the Ministry of Foreign Affairs about steps taken against mounting Roman Catholic influence on Russia, and official opinions about an upcoming papal visit to Ukraine's Kiev. The committee is also to delve into reasons that had made Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov meet with the Pope on a recent visit to Italy. The inquiry will be made on the initiative of Vladimir Zhirinovsky, Liberal Democratic leader and Vice-Speaker of parliament's lower house.
