American servicemen from the international peacekeeping force in Kosovo (KFOR), during a shootout outside Mijak village near Kosovo's border with Macedonia, wounded two Albanian militants, a KFOR spokesman said Wednesday. The incident took place on Wednesday morning. American servicemen discovered a group of armed men coming out of a house near Mijak village. The Albanians aimed their weapons at the Americans and an exchange of fire followed. The KFOR spokesman noted that no one was hit among the peacekeepers. The remaining members of the group managed to escape in the direction of the Macedonian village of Tanusevci, which has been held for three weeks now by Albanian militants clashing with Macedonia's army units.
