RUSSIAN LAUNCHERS TO BE USED FOR SATELLITE BLASTOFF FROM AUSTRALIA PERTH /AUSTRALIA/, MARCH 6. /RIA NOVOSTI'S CORRESPONDENT NATALIA MUNI/ -- Russian launchers will be used for blasting off satellites from Australia. The Australian company Geographic Resources has purchased from the Russian Space Agency the right for use of launchers created on the basis of the Russian ballistic rocket SS-25. According to the company's specialists, they will be mostly research satellites to be launched from the Woomera center in the South Australian desert. The launch of satellites "will be an opportunity for other countries, such as the United States, interested in purchasing the technology to see it in operation on a neutral territory", said Ian MacLachlan, chairman of the board of directors of Geographic Resources.
