MACEDONIA DETERMINED TO PUT END TO VIOLATION UNLEASHED BY ALBANIANS VIENNA, MARCH 5, 2001. /RIA NOVOSTI CORRESPONDENT BORISLAV PECHNIKOV/. In a few hours Macedonia may take actions jointly with KFOR to put an end to violence unleashed by Albanian extremists near the Macedonian border with the Yugoslav province of Kosovo, reads the statement of the Foreign Minister of Macedonia Srdjan Kerim, which was released by the Foreign Ministry of Austria. After telephone talks with NATO top brass, Mr Kerim stated in Skopje that the Alliance had approved such actions. On the other hand, one should not dramatize the situation, as "Skopje is far from declaring war at the moment", said the Macedonian foreign minister. Macedonian leaders are in constant contact with NATO Secretary General George Robertson, European Union coordinator responsible for foreign policy issues Javier Solana, and U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan.
