FOREIGN TRADE CONVERSION BETWEEN RUSSIA AND IRAN AMOUNTED 2000 TO 600
MILLION DOLLAR








MOSCOW, 12 March.  / Alexander Iwaschtschenko, korrespondent of the
RIA " Nowosti " /. the foreign trade conversion between Russia and
Iran amounted 2000 to 600 million dollar.  That was indicated in the
Ministry for economic development and trade of the RF.

According to expert estimations of the Ministry the foreign trade
conversion between the two countries rises lately stably.  In the
previous year the Russian export amounted to to Iran 550 million
dollar, while it had amounted 1999 to 416,7 million dollar.  The
import from Iran achieved 2000 50 million dollar, was however under
the level of 1999, in which it had amounted to 69.6 million dollar.

As experts of the Ministry stress, machines and equipment have a
proportion of more than 50 per cent of the Russian export to Iran.
Russia supplies iron metals, fertilizers as well as products of the
cellulose and paper industry on the Iranian market also.

The main posts of the Russian import from Iran are food - Nuesse,
fruit, juices, teigwaren and tobacco.
