MOSCOW GETS ONLY QUALITY MEAT MOSCOW, 2 March. (RIA "Nowosti" rIA-"Nowosti"-Korrespondent Grigori Tebenichin). The government of Moscow insured the inhabitants of the Russian metropolis that to the city from the foreign country only quality meat is supplied. Vladimir Malyschkow, Minister of the city government, tried, to eliminate the concern of the Muscovites in connection with the BSE epidemic in Europe. Moscow uses 550,000 to 650,000 tons meat in the year, whereby the Russian producers can supply only 180,000 to 220,000 tons. Moscow buys the remainder abroad. Foreign meat is three-way checked, in the exporting country of local specialists and Russian representatives, according to which each piece of battle is controlled additionally still in Russia. The Minister disproved the messages of the local press, after which recently allegedly a contract was closed over the meat supplies from Germany to Russia. As agreed upon 100,000 tons beef from Bavaria should be supplied to Moscow. Such negotiations were actually led according to Malyschkow. Signatoryly is however so far only a " intention log ".
