KAZAN MEDICAL INSTRUMENTS PLANT RECEIVES GERMAN ORDER








KAZAN, MARCH 13, 2001 - From RIA Novosti Correspondent Vladimir Shevchuk.  The Kazan medical instruments plant has received a major order from the world famous German Karl Storz company for the production of titanium instruments for surgery in a magnetic environment.


	The enterprise is one of the first in Kazan ( the capital of Tatarstan in the Volga Region) and Russia to have certified its  quality control system to comply with world standards.  This has largely defined its success in the international arena.


	Instruments of the Kazan plant were used by the world famous heart surgeons Renat Akchurin (Russia) and Michael DeBakey from America, when operating on Boris Yeltsin's heart.
