RUSSIA-HUNGARY TRADE TURNOVER ON THE RISE //BUDAPEST, MARCH 13, 2001. /RIA Novosti correspondent Yuri Baranov/ -- ##Last year the situation in Russian-Hungarian trade and economic relations changed drastically, Vitaly Yefimov, Russian trade representative, stated. The trade turnover between the two countries increased significantly. Contacts at the inter-governmental level have been stepped up, the sixth session of the Russian-Hungarian inter-governmental commission on trade and economic cooperation was held. According to the Russian trade representative, a good basis for further development of bilateral economic relations has been provided. Mr Yefimov pointed to a number of unsettled issues which hamper the development of trade between the two countries. Thus, a number of important agreements have not been signed so far. Given the elimination of obstacles on the way of mutual trade, Hungary's exports to Russia may increase up to USD 1 billion within a year.
