BASHKORTOSTAN TO HOST CONGRESS OF RUSSIA'S OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY WORKERS UFA, March 13, 2001. /RIA Novosti - Bashinform/. Russian workers of the oil and gas industry will gather in Ufa, the capital city of Bashkortostan, a Russian republic near the Urals, for the third Oil and Gas Industry Congress, which has been scheduled for May 22 through 25. The congress, whose program envisages discussions of problems and prospects of Russia's oil and gas complex, will go alongside the ninth Gas & Oil international exhibition and an international scientific and practical conference dedicated to the state of petrochemistry and the oil and gas processing industry, automatization, metrology and communications in the context of the oil and gas complex, introduction of new technologies, and geophysical research of oil and gas fields. A committee headed by Bashkir Prime Minister Rafael Baidavletov has been set up to take care of organisational issues.
