RUSSIAN VICE-PREMIER: THERE IS NO REASON TO BRING NO-CONFIDENCE VOTE TO GOVERNMENT MOSCOW, March 13, 2001. /RIA Novosti correspondent Andrei Malosolov/. Vice-premier of Russia Valentina Matviyenko believes that there is no reason to bring a no-confidence vote to the government. She made such a statement speaking at the scientific conference Social Policy Implementing in Conditions of State Modernisation. Proving her stance the vice-premier noted that thanks to the government's activity last year real household incomes grew by over 9 percent, wages increased by 22.5 percent, and pension by 28 percent. The number of unemployed dropped by two million. In 2001 pensions in Russia are being paid without delays. This year the budget is being executed in all directions, wage arrears have been liquidated with only 6-7 regions left to join the process. The government is currently preparing proposals to drastically reform the system of financing budgetary branches in order to improve living standards of the Russian citizens.
