DJINDJIC: KFOR SHOULD COMBAT ALBANIAN TERRORISTS BELGRADE, MARCH 12, 2001 /FROM RIA NOVOSTI CORRESPONDENT ALEKSANDER SLABYNKO/ -- International peace-keepers in Kosovo /KFOR/ are bound to combat Albanian extremism otherwise they risk losing the battle with terrorism and will have to retreat in disgrace, said Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic in an interview with the Belgrade newspaper Glas. However, the prime minister believes that KFOR servicemen are not yet ready for such activities. He suggested that an independent commission be set up to find out why KFOR had not disarm Albanian extremists in Kosovo currently operating in the south of Serbia and in Macedonia. Now it is clear, noted Djindjic, that Milosevic's poor policy cannot be seen as an excuse for every blunder. Concerning the Kosovo problem settlement, Djindjic expressed confidence that the majority of Serbs has nothing against Serb- Albanian neighbourhood in the region provided a dialogue is established between them. This is the only way to integrate with Europe, believes the premier.
