RUSSIA TO SIGN CIS AGREEMENT ON INFORMATION EXCHANGE IN EDUCATIONAL SPHERE MOSCOW, March 11, 2001 /From RIA Novosti correspondent/--The Russian government has decided to sign an Agreement on Exchange of Information in the Sphere of Education between the twelve states of the CIS, reports the Government Information Department of Russia. According to the draft of the aforementioned agreement, which received preliminary approval of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers, governments of CIS states are about to organise a regular exchange of information related to education, training and certification of scientific manpower. The document, which will be open for any other country that might wish to join, also envisages the possibility of setting up an interstate information agency that would handle and distribute such information. The agreement is signed for the term of five years will be automatically extended unless the parties concerned decide otherwise.
