APRIL'S CASPIAN SUMMIT MAY BE CANCELED MOSCOW, March 11. /RIA Novosti/. The Russian President's Caspian envoy, Deputy Foreign Minister Viktor Kalyuzhny, did not rule out the possibility of the Caspian summit, scheduled for early next April with the Caspian Sea's legal status on the agenda, being eventually canceled. Speaking to a news conference, he said that Moscow "understands the arguments of Iran, which has asked to postpone the summit by a month due to the Iranian president's visit in Moscow starting tomorrow". However, he added the postponement was proof of the "decreasing urgency of the problem". In addition, Kalyuzhny pointed out that the schedule of all the heads of state involved is very tight, indeed, it is "crammed", so it is exceedingly difficult to find a date that would work for all the parties.
