RUSSIAN SAILOR CONVICTED FOR RAPE PLEADS INNOCENT LONDON, MARCH 10, 2001. /from RIA Novosti's Sergei Kudasov/ -- The lawcourt of Hove, Sussex, sentenced Vadim Bulgakov, 32, Russian national, to ten years' imprisonment for rape. The convict pleaded innocent though he acknowledged sexual harassment of an Englishwoman aged fifty in the railway station of Sheerness, Kent, last August. The sailor was found guilty, and the court spoke against his pardon. The Russian Embassy consular department is au courant with the affair, and will do everything necessary for the compatriot's consular support.
