VLADIMIR PUTIN SIGNS LAW CONCERNING SAFE SEA SHIPPING








MOSCOW, March 10, 2001. /RIA Novosti correspondent/ -- Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a Federal Law On the ratification of the Convention on combating illegal acts aimed against safe sea shipping and the Protocol on the fight against illegal acts aimed against the safety of stationary platforms on the continental shelf, but made the following reservation: "The Russian Federation applies Point 1 of Article 8 of the Convention on Combating Illegal Acts Aimed Against Safe Sea Shipping in that part of it which does not contradict its legislation."
