PHOTO FROM RUSSIA WINS "PRESS-PHOTO 2000" CONTEST IN FINLAND








HELSINKI, March 9, 2001 /From RIA Novosti correspondent Leonid Laakso/ -- It is the photo by Juha Metso from the Finnish town of Kotka that won the "Press-Photo 2000" competition. The photograph is depicting Nikolai Linkov, a taxi driver from Nizhny Novgorod, a city in north-western Russia.


	The photo correspondent took the photograph in March 2000, the day before the presidential poll in Russia. Linkov is sitting in front of the steering wheel of his Volga car. The windscreen is adorned with a picture of Vladimir Putin.


	The photograph was published on the front page of Helsinki Sanomat, international edition of Finland's leading daily newspaper.
