DELHI MOSQUE IMAM'S UTTERANCES CAUSE PROTEST FROM HINDUIST ORGANISATIONS DELHI, MARCH 7. /RIA NOVOSTI CORRESPONDENT IGOR ALEXANDROV/ -- Pronouncements by imam Sied Akhmed Bukhari of the mosque Jama Masjid in Delhi in justification of the destruction of Buddhist monuments by Talibs in Afghanistan have been met with protest by various Hinduist organisations. On Wednesday activists of the national Hinduist party Shiv Sena /Shivah Army/ held a demonstration, burning the imam's dummy in protest against his utterances. During a divine service on the occasion of the Muslim sacrifice holiday, the imam said that the destruction of monuments in Afghanistan is in protest against the destruction of the Babri Masjid mosque in Ayodhya in India on December 6, 1992.
