PUTIN SUPPORTS MORE WOMEN IN POWER








MOSCOW, MARCH 7, RIA NOVOSTI. Russian president Vladimir Putin has come out in favour of more women in governmental posts. Mr. Putin announced during a meeting with business people that the female approach to business would be useful in finding compromises in difficult situations.


	While noting that "unfortunately, one does not often meet women in high posts and politics," Vladimir Putin stressed that "we would like to see this situation changed." Mr. Putin promised that he would gradually like to see this situation changed.


	The president's speech was greeted in good humour, while he noted that he would not make any appointments today, it being International Women's Day.
