IMPORT OF NUCLEAR WASTE TO RUSSIA TO REST ON INTERSTATE AGREEMENTS MOSCOW, March 6. /RIA Novosti's correspondent Nikolai Venediktov/. The taking in, processing and temporary storage of nuclear waste in Russia must be executed by interstate agreements, not as deals between companies. This viewpoint was voiced in an interview with RIA Novosti by Pavel Sazhinov of the Russian parliamentary security and defense committee. He believes that with interstate agreements Russia will be able, when the term of these agreements expires or force majeure butts into, Russia will return this waste to the countries where it came from. The deputy said this in view of the parliamentary discussions of a package of laws tabled by the government and permitting the intake of nuclear waste in Russia.
