VACLAV HAVEL: INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY SHARES RESPONSIBILITY FOR KOSOVO AND MACEDONIA BORDER STRIFE

The international community shares part of the blame for the troubling developments on the border between the Yugoslav province of Kosovo and Macedonia, Czech President Vaclav Havel told reporters after a meeting with his Croatian counterpart, Stjepan Mesic, who is in the Czech Republic on a two-day state visit.


	The international community, which for a long time tended "to turn a blind eye" to the ethnic tensions building up between the many Balkan ethnic communities, should re-evaluate its policy in the region, said Havel.
