PREPARATIONS FOR RUSSIAN-GERMAN SUMMIT DISCUSSED IN MOSCOW MOSCOW, March 6. /RIA Novosti correspondent Christine Rodriguez/. Preparations for a Russian-German summit scheduled for April 9-10 in St Petersburg were discussed by Russia's First Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Avdeyev and State Secretary of German Foreign Ministry Guenter Pleuger, the Russian Foreign Ministry's press and information department said on Tuesday. The sides exchanged views on current liaison between Russia and the EU and on relations with NATO, as well as on strategic stability, NMD included. The situation in the Balkans and the Middle East was also discussed. Avdeyev and Pleuger dealt in detail with practical aspects of the bilateral relations. They confirmed a common desire to seek joint constructive solutions to some remaining problems. The consultations passed in the spirit of good-neighbourliness and partnership, it was concluded in the Foreign Ministry.
