SPRING HIGH-FLOOD IN KRASNOYARSK TERRITORY TO BE VERY DANGEROUS KRASNOYARSK, MARCH 6, 2001 /FROM RIA NOVOSTI CORRESPONDENT BORIS IVANOV/ -- The spring high-flood expected in the Krasnoyarsk Territory (eastern Siberia) will be more dangerous than last year. Governor Alexander Lebed said this after his working trip to the district centre Boguchany, the coastal part of which is being flooded by Angara waters every spring. According to data provided by the governor, more than 50 populated localities in the 14 districts of the territory can be found in the zone of flood. According to the experts' estimates, the situation will be aggravated not only by the taiga snow reserves which exceed two times the last year's ones but also by the fact that as a result of the 50 degree frosts last January many small rivers froze to the bottom. This will create ice-blocking on the Yenisei's tributaries. However, Alexander Lebed is optimistic. He said that everything is ready for meeting the high-flood -- the reserves of explosives, machines and people.
