EARTHQUAKE IN TIBET BEIJING, MARCH 6, 2001 /FROM RIA NOVOSTI CORRESPONDENT ALEXANDER ISAYEV/ -- An earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale occurred in the Niyma district of the Tibet autonomous region of China. Underground shocks were registered there during the night from Monday to Tuesday. According to the Chinese seismological agency, the epicentre of the earthquake is situated in the coordinates latitude 34.2 degrees North and longitude 86.5 degrees West. No reports about victims or destruction in the zone of the earth tremors have been received so far.
