US STATE DEPARTMENT DECLINES TO COMMENT ON REPORTS ABOUT TUNNEL UNDER RUSSIAN EMBASSY WASHINGTON, MARCH 6, 2001 /FROM RIA NOVOSTI CORRESPONDENT ARKADY ORLOV/ -- The US State Department "has no opportunity" to comment on issues dealing with intelligence activities, and therefore will not comment on the existence or non-existence of a secret tunnel under the Russian embassy. Official spokesman for the US State Department Richard Boucher informed journalists about this in Washington on Monday. Here Mr Boucher added that on Monday the US charge d'affaires ad interim in Moscow had been summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry in connection with the media reports on the matter. The charge d'affaires told the Russian side that he would inform Washington about Moscow's concerns, said the White House spokesman.
